Adobe Mishaps, User Profiles on GrapheneOS, Apple HomeKit Home hub selection, and more...
Privacy
Adobe has made several changes to their TOS, all but explicitly stating that unless users grant Adobe a perpetual license to all their work for AI training purposes, those users will be unable to use Adobe software, such as Creative Suite. Naturally, this angered everyone who was paying attention and produced a severe backlash, which Adobe failed to satisfactorily address. If you're in the market for a suite made by a company that's interested in selling tools to people instead of selling people to tools, look at Affinity Photo. [1] [2]
Security
Naomi Brockwell of NBTV once again does a great job explaining how to silo apps into different profiles on Graphene OS. In my opinion, this is something Apple can and should have come out with over ten years ago, given iOS's OS X foundation and support for multiple users. [3]
Automation
Apple is allowing users to manually specify their preferred Home Hub in iOS and other OS's, come Fall. As a HomeKit user who has to constantly unplug Home Hubs in order to troubleshoot malfunctioning Thread devices, this is a welcome change. More information on this topic will follow in the coming months. [4]
